Line Cook | Full-Time The Colony, TX
Cafe Mila is a family-owned cafe in The Colony, TX, known for fresh, made-with-care food and a warm neighborhood feel. We're looking for an experienced, dependable Line Cook to join our kitchen team full-time. If you have a strong culinary background, can move with purpose during a rush, and want to be part of a close-knit, family-run restaurant, we'd love to meet you.
As a Line Cook, you'll prepare and cook menu items to Cafe Mila's standards, work efficiently as part of a small kitchen team, and help keep our kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly during every shift.
Prepare and cook food items according to Cafe Mila's recipes and presentation standards
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before service
Work efficiently on the line during breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner rushes
Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures at all times
Monitor food quality and freshness; rotate stock using FIFO practices
Communicate clearly with other cooks, servers, and management during service
Maintain a clean, organized station and assist with general kitchen cleaning duties
Help with inventory checks and restocking as needed
Step in to support other stations or tasks as needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly
Follow all health department and company safety guidelines
Minimum 2+ years of experience as a line cook in a restaurant or cafe setting
Proven ability to work multiple stations and execute recipes consistently under pressure
Solid knife skills and familiarity with proper food prep techniques
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while staying calm and focused
Strong attention to detail and consistency
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working with kitchen equipment (grills, fryers, ovens, slicers, etc.)
Food Handler's Certification
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
