arlisle Construction Materials (CCM), is a global leader in the building materials industry. We've been around since 1917. We are looking for a Line Drivers / Forklift Operators to join our team in Franklin Park, IL. We have an immediate opening on 3rd shift. This position is responsible operating a forklift to take products off the production line and put away in designated locations in the warehouse. Employee will be used to fill in on other jobs in the plant as required.
Pay Range: $23.00 to 24.00 per hour
Job Summary
Operate forklifts to take product off the production line and put away in designated locations in the warehouse. Trouble shoot and operate packaging equipment in the production operation. Employee will be used to fill in on other jobs in plant as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate propane sit down lift trucks after completing safety check list.
- Knowledge and use of SAPI system
- Knowledge and ability to perform TPM checklists on equipment
- Make labels for each production run and verify correct information is on label.
- Operate and trouble shoot label applicator
- Verify piece counts on each pallet and compare it to label.
- Inspect packaging for quality defects.
- Take product off the production line and put away in designated locations in the Warehouse.
- Keep production line clear and running.
- Keep rows straight and leave at least a 2-4 inch distance between pallets.
- Operate glue gun.
- Material handling of all products.
- Empty dumpsters from production floor when needed.
- Housekeeping of plant inside and out.
- Segregate defective product and notify supervisor.
- Maintain 5S in appropriate areas.
- Assist in training new team members.
- Fill in other areas of the plant as required
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
- Knowledge and certification of forklift operations, perferably 3 to 5 years of experience.
- Knowledge of entire warehouse layout, product codes, batch numbers.
- Complete understanding of entire production schedule.
- Knowledge and certified in LOTO program
- Ability to identify possible quality defects.
- Knowledge of labels, piece count etc.
- Knowledge of safety aspects of all equipment operated as well as the plant's general safety policies.
- Understanding the impact of sending incorrect/defective products.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment safely
Working Conditions:
Activities occur inside an insulation manufacturing facility. Job includes but are not limited to exposure to the following.
Temperatures exposed to both Ambient/outside temperatures.
Nuisance dust, use of chemicals, working with mechanical parts, pinch points
Noise of industrial machinery
Fumes from solvent, forklift exhaust and tractor-trailers
Pinch point on moving mechanical parts
Heavy equipment operation including forklift and yard tractor
Typically 40 hour per week with overtime as required
Shift is typically Monday-Friday, with start/ending times varied, with weekend work required as production, shipping or warehouse needs dictate
