Top Metal Solutions is seeking highly skilled and experienced professionals to join our team as a Line Lead Fabricator - Level 3. This position is designed for senior-level fabricators capable of leading fabrication operations, supporting production setup, improving workflow efficiency, and maintaining high fabrication standards across production lines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As a Line Lead Fabricator, you will play a critical role in production coordination, advanced fabrication, fixture development, workflow organization, and team support. This role requires advanced layout and fitting abilities, strong fabrication leadership, and the ability to identify and resolve production challenges before they impact efficiency and quality.

Position Summary

The Line Lead Fabricator - Level 3 is responsible for leading and supporting fabrication operations while performing advanced fitting, layout, fabrication, inspection, and assembly work on structural and custom metal components.

This position requires the ability to support production lines through setup coordination, workflow organization, fabrication troubleshooting, and quality verification while maintaining tight tolerances and fabrication standards. The ideal candidate has strong leadership abilities, advanced fabrication knowledge, and experience identifying production bottlenecks and workflow inefficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support daily fabrication activities within assigned production lines
  • Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings and production prints
  • Perform advanced fitting, layout, and fabrication work while maintaining tight tolerances
  • Build, improve, and maintain fixtures, templates, and production jigs
  • Coordinate line setups alongside production leadership
  • Help organize fabrication flow, work segmentation, and production sequencing
  • Troubleshoot fabrication and fit-up issues during production
  • Perform visual inspections to identify dimensional issues, fabrication defects, or fit-up inconsistencies
  • Ensure assemblies meet dimensional and quality standards before welding completion
  • Identify and communicate production bottlenecks affecting workflow and efficiency
  • Perform GMAW and FCAW-G welding as required
  • Support fabrication efficiency, repeatability, and reduction of rework
  • Train and assist fabricators on fabrication methods, workflow, and quality standards
  • Communicate production or fabrication issues proactively to leadership
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements

Fabrication & Welding Skills

  • Advanced blueprint reading and fabrication layout skills required
  • Strong understanding of fabrication sequencing, distortion control, and tolerance management
  • High-level fitting and assembly squaring experience required
  • Extensive experience building fixtures, templates, and production jigs
  • Advanced GMAW and FCAW-G welding experience required
  • Ability to perform visual inspections and identify fabrication defects or inconsistencies
  • Strong troubleshooting and production problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to identify workflow inefficiencies and production bottlenecks
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead fabrication operations while remaining hands-on in production
  • Strong attention to detail, workflow efficiency, and craftsmanship

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years of fabrication experience required
  • Previous experience in structural or custom fabrication environments preferred
  • Strong leadership and production support experience required
  • Advanced blueprint reading, layout, and fitting skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong understanding of tolerances, fabrication sequencing, and distortion control
  • Ability to fit and fabricate complete assemblies independently
  • Experience supporting production lines, setup coordination, and workflow improvements
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
  • Consistent quality and production output required
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and leadership mentality
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading fabrication teams in production environments
  • Experience implementing workflow and efficiency improvements
  • Experience with structural steel fabrication projects
  • Forklift experience is a plus
  • Welding certifications are a plus, but not required

Compensation

  • Starting pay: $33/hour
  • Full-time position
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly

Work Environment

This position works inside a metal fabrication and manufacturing facility. Employees may be exposed to heat, sparks, dust, noise, and heavy equipment. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
