Job Title: Linux String Systems Engineer Location: Woburn, MA Zip Code: 01801Duration: 12 monthsPay Rate: $74.77/hrSchedule: 9/80 Start Date: ImmediateWhat is the primary mission of this role?Hardware Integration and String Test Engineer to lead and support radar system testing in a dynamic lab environment. This role is critical to ensuring that Systems and Software Engineering teams have the necessary hardware, networking, and infrastructure to execute development and testing initiatives effectively.Main functions of this role:o This role encompasses end-to-end solutions, including the setup and maintenance of defined radar string environments-covering servers, network switches, cabling (Cat5, RF), and power systems. Responsibilities include hardware configuration, racking and stacking, and operating system installation (Windows/Linux). The position also supports lab operations such as inventory management, equipment shipments, and coordination with IT and engineering teams.o Additionally, this role will assist with hardware-in-the-loop testing to ensure systems accurately represent real radar configurations. The individual will mentor team members on string setup using established procedures and documentation. Key responsibilities include interfacing with internal stakeholders and external visitors, such as clients and test site personnel, and providing regular reports to management on lab status, equipment readiness, and operational issues.Required Skill Sets:o Active US Secret Clearanceo 5+ years in a fast-paced lab environment supporting development and testingo Hands-on experience with hardware integrationo Proficiency in server setup, networking (including switches and cabling), and operating systems (Windows/Linux)o Experience with hardware configuration, inventory logistics, and customer interaction.o Excellent organizational and communication skillsDesired Skill Sets:o Experience in government or defense contracting environmentso Practical networking experience and certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+)o Familiarity with radar systems, power-up sequences, and system-level validation.o Exposure to radar string testing and hardware-in-the-loop environmentsYears of Experience Required:o 5+ yearsEducation Level Required:o Bachelors preferredCultureo The contractor will be working in a collaborative team environment Belcan is an equal opportunity employer.
