NTA, Inc. is seeking an experienced information technology (IT) professional to support engineering activities at the Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC). Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited toinstalling, configuring, securing, hardening, remediating, testing, upgrading, and decommissioning Linux workstations and servers in both virtual and physical environments.

This role provides direct application support to program engineers and plays an essential part in ensuring successful synergy between program deliverables and the underlying IT infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for the ongoing operations, maintenance and continuous improvement of multiple IT environments. This candidate will ensure that the IT systems are managed, controlled and compliant with the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and the Risk Management Framework (RMF). This position offers a hands-on opportunity with the flexibility to learn and apply a wide range of core technical capabilities. This is a fully on-site position requiring support at multiple work locations; telecommuting is not available.

Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an ABET accredited institution 
  • 5 + years of IT System Administration 

Required: 
  • IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CySA+, or SSCP) 
  • 5 or more years of dedicated Linux systems administration experience with a heavy emphasis on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) to include installation, configuration, patching, and lifecycle maintenance 
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  
Desired: 
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) 
  • Experience developing and using Ansible playbooks for patching, configuration enforcement, application deployment, and other system administration automations 
  • LVM administration (physical volumes, volume groups, logical volumes, resizing) 
  • Strong proficiency with the Linux command line 
  • Solid understanding of standard network protocols (SSH, DNS, DHCP, NTP) with basic network troubleshooting skills using various tools 
  • Exposure to CI/CD or Git-based infrastructure workflows 
 
Applicant must have a current security clearance or be able to obtain a security clearance through a government security investigation. U.S. Citizenship is required.
