LINUX Systems Administrator
Silver Spring, MD - Hybrid
Pay From: $125,000 per year
MUST:
Experienced LINUX Systems Admin
10+ years of related systems administration or IT operations experience
Strong hands-on Linux systems administration experience
Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-hosted infrastructure
Experience supporting Drupal CMS environments hosted on a LAMP stack
Experience with SOLR Search installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Experience with Elasticsearch installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Experience installing, configuring, patching, troubleshooting, and maintaining Linux operating systems
Experience managing enterprise server, storage, network, and related IT infrastructure
Experience troubleshooting complex server, application, software integration, and infrastructure issues
Experience monitoring and optimizing system performance, reliability, and resource utilization
Experience performing capacity analysis and system planning
Experience maintaining system integrity and supporting network components
Experience supporting system architecture and associated hardware
Understanding of system administration interdependencies within Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments
Experience providing technical support, problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
Experience documenting and communicating complex technical issues and resolutions
Experience with Akamai CDN services desired
Experience supporting Drupal website hosting platforms such as Acquia desired
Experience supporting large-scale, high-availability public-facing web environments desired
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical discipline required
DUTIES:
Implement, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise IT systems and AWS cloud services
Support Drupal CMS environments hosted on a LAMP stack
Administer and maintain Linux servers and supporting infrastructure
Install, configure, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain operating system software
Administer and support SOLR Search and Elasticsearch environments
Manage infrastructure, services, and processes supporting servers, storage, network devices, client systems, and mobile devices
Troubleshoot complex server, application, infrastructure, and software integration issues
Provide technical support including problem identification, diagnosis, escalation, and resolution
Monitor and optimize system operations, performance, reliability, and resource utilization
Perform capacity analysis and system planning
Troubleshoot and maintain system integrity and network components
Analyze escalated technical issues and provide detailed recommendations and feedback to management and internal stakeholders
Support the design and implementation of system architectures and associated hardware
Implement operating system enhancements to improve system reliability and performance
Support AWS-hosted infrastructure and cloud services
Support Service-Oriented Architecture environments and related system administration dependencies
Support Akamai CDN and Drupal hosting platforms as required
Collaborate with application, web, database, network, security, and infrastructure teams
Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
