Title: Linux Systems Engineer
Locations: Boise, ID
Duration: 6 Months
Salary Range: $32 - $37/Hour on W2 (All inclusive)
Introduction
We are seeking a skilled Linux Systems Engineer to join our team for a 6-month onsite role. As a Linux Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise RedHat Unix/Linux solutions, ensuring system reliability, and providing excellent customer service.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of experience managing enterprise RedHat Unix/Linux solutions, preferably large scale.
- Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, etc.).
- Deep knowledge and experience supporting RHEL 8 & 9.
- Proficient with LDAP configuration and management.
- Experience with virtualization.
- Hands-on experience with computer hardware maintenance.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Strong drive for continuous improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of Redhat Kickstart and configuration management tools (puppet preferred).
- Proven skills in automating systems services and tasks to streamline service and ensure consistency.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve complex problems.
- Experience supporting servers in the cloud preferred.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal).
- Strong skills in decision-making, prioritization, and negotiation.
- Passion and accountability for the environment you will be responsible for.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Prior work experience at client or in client's industry.
Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based server support.
- Familiarity with additional configuration management tools.
- Experience in a similar industry or environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage and support RedHat Unix/Linux solutions.
- Perform system troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Automate system services and tasks for consistency.
- Collaborate with team members to improve system reliability.
