Litigation Associate

Tabet DiVito & Rothstein is a well-established law firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal services. We are seeking a highly motivated litigation attorney with at least four years of litigation experience to join our team. This full-time associate position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, collaborate with experienced attorneys, and play a key role in achieving favorable outcomes for our clients.

Position Summary

\n

The litigation attorney will be responsible for independently managing cases through all phases of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate is a skilled advocate with strong analytical, writing, and courtroom abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• \n
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• \n
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
• \n
• Handle discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and reviewing document productions.
• \n
• Take and defend depositions.
• \n
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
• \n
• Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, hearings, and trial.
• \n
• Appear in court for hearings, motions, case management conferences, and trials.
• \n
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide practical legal advice.
• \n
• Collaborate with partners, other associates, and support staff to ensure effective case management.

Qualifications

\n

Required

\n

• \n
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• \n

\n

·        Active license to practice law in Illinois and good standing with the Illinois Bar.

\n

• \n
• Minimum of 4-5 years of litigation experience.
• \n
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• \n
• Experience handling depositions, hearings, and motion practice.
• \n
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters and deadlines.
• \n
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• \n

Preferred

\n

• \n
• Trial experience.
• \n

\n

·        Experience in commercial litigation, employment litigation, insurance coverage, personal injury defense, appellate matters, construction litigation, or other relevant litigation areas.

• Portable business or demonstrated business development experience is a plus.
• \n
