Litigation - Associate - Commercial Litigation (Kansas City)Armstrong Teasdale LLP is seeking a Lateral Associate with Commercial Litigation experience to join its Kansas City Office. Litigation associates have an exciting opportunity to learn from and work closely with energetic, highly experienced legal practitioners in a friendly, cooperative environment. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of general commercial litigation experience. Candidates should have demonstrated experience with all phases of litigation, including appeals, and be able to drive matters from inception to conclusion.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Simultaneously handles the high-level and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters at different stages of progression, from inception to conclusionPossesses strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills for communicating with attorneys and clientsDemonstrates an ability to work independently and productively and show a strong interest in advancing a career in litigationProduces quality legal work and bills the required amounts of hours to ensure excellent client servicesManages business and assists in the generation of business through group and individual effortsComplies with the very highest ethical standards of the legal professionRequired EducationJuris DoctorRequired Licenses and/or CertificationsLicensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of Missouri; must maintain applicable license renewal and CLE requirementsPreferred Experience4+ years' experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm. Litigation experience should include both traditional and electronic discovery, preparation for and taking depositions, motion drafting, and active participation in hearings and trial. Outstanding writing, research, analytical and oral advocacy skills. Significant courtroom experience (state and/or federal) including appeals. Strong academic credentials. Demonstrated ability to manage matters and to delegate to and manage junior associates.
