Job Details

We are seeking a civil litigation defense attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join our fully remote litigation team. This role is ideal for an attorney who is comfortable managing cases independently while remaining connected to a collaborative and experienced group of litigators.
Our practice focuses on general civil litigation defense matters, offering consistent case flow and meaningful opportunities for hands-on litigation work. We strongly value candidates with trial experience or those who have taken cases through advanced stages of litigation.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
Take and defend depositions
Appear for hearings, conferences, mediations, and other proceedings (remote and in-person as required)
Prepare matters for trial and assist with or lead trial efforts where applicable
Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts
Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and risk exposure
Collaborate with attorneys and support staff across a remote environment

Qualifications

3+ years of civil litigation defense experience
Background in insurance defense, general liability, or comparable litigation work
Strong experience with deposition practice, discovery, and motion work
Trial experience or meaningful exposure to trial preparation strongly preferred
Ability to independently manage a full caseload in a remote setting
Strong written and oral advocacy skills

Requirements

Active Connecticut Bar admission or ability to waive in
Additional bar admissions are a significant plus
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple matters simultaneously
Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with accountability and responsiveness
