We are seeking a litigation attorney to join our professional liability and medical malpractice defense practice. This is a substantive, hands-on role defending healthcare providers and institutions, with meaningful client contact and the opportunity to work on complex, high-profile cases alongside experienced practitioners.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Defend physicians, hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice and professional liability litigation
• Manage cases through all phases of litigation: pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, expert development, mediation, and trial preparation
• Review and analyze medical records; work closely with medical and standard-of-care experts
• Draft dispositive and pretrial motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
• Represent providers in related risk management, peer review, credentialing, and professional licensing board matters
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex and multi-jurisdictional disputes

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in Texas, in good standing
• [2–5] years of litigation experience; medical malpractice, professional liability, or healthcare defense experience strongly preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Deposition and discovery experience; comfort managing cases with a degree of independence
