WHY THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY

  • Join a nationally recognized law firm with nearly 50 years of experience at the intersection of business, government, environment, and energy — a practice built on real complexity and high-stakes outcomes
  • Take on significant responsibility early — you won't be sitting on the bench; you'll be working directly alongside experienced environmental litigators on substantive federal and state court matters
  • Handle genuinely interesting work: environmental litigation spanning CERCLA/Superfund, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, NEPA, the Endangered Species Act, and more — including matters on behalf of Indian tribes
  • Work within a collaborative, team-based litigation group that values your growth, invests in your development, and trusts you to drive matters forward
  • 1,700-hour annual billable requirement (including up to 100 hours of pro bono or business development) — a realistic target that supports balance without stalling your career
  • Generous bonus structure for associates who exceed the target
  • Flexible scheduling within a hybrid model — 3 days/week in-office, with autonomy over how you structure your time
  • Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) profit-sharing, paid time off, paid holidays, parental leave, life and disability insurance, EAP resources, and professional development support

Location: This role can be based in either our Seattle, WA or Washington, DC office. We operate on a hybrid schedule — primarily in-office with genuine flexibility — in a collegial environment where teamwork and accountability define the culture.

Note: Candidates must be a licensed attorney with 2+ years of experience in litigation, including drafting legal work product such as pleadings, memoranda, and discovery. Experience with environmental statutes (CERCLA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, ESA, NEPA, or similar) is strongly preferred. Active bar admission or eligibility to waive into Washington State or DC is required.
