DescriptionLeech Tishman is seeking to hire a Litigation Associate with 4–6 years of experience in employment and commercial litigation to work in our Los Angeles (Westwood) office. The position requires significant client contact and the ability to excel when working independently. Superior client communication, writing, research, computer, and organizational skills are essential.The ideal candidate will have substantial experience representing employers in employment-related disputes, including single-plaintiff litigation, wage and hour matters, class and collective actions, employment counseling, and workplace investigations. Experience is required in drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, preparing and responding to written discovery, and handling complex motions practice in both state and federal courts.ResponsibilitiesAssisting with employment and commercial litigation matters from inception through trial, arbitration, settlement, or other resolutionHandling single-plaintiff employment claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, and other employment-related disputesAssisting with and defending employers in wage and hour class actions and collective actions, including matters brought under California law and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)Preparing responsive pleadings, dispositive motions, motions for class certification, motions to compel arbitration, summary judgment motions, and other substantive motionsPropounding and responding to written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissionConducting and defending depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and expertsAttending and arguing court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferencesConducting legal research and preparing memoranda, briefs, and client advisoriesAssisting employers with day-to-day employment counseling, including workplace policies, employee discipline, leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, accommodations, and termination decisionsConducting and assisting with workplace investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misconduct, and other employment-related issuesCollaborating directly with clients to develop litigation and risk-management strategiesTrial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit management, drafting motions in limine, jury instructions, and trial briefsCandidate Qualifications4-6 years in civil and commercial litigationSignificant experience representing employers in employment litigation mattersMust be licensed in CaliforniaExperience in both California state and federal court proceedingsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft WordStrong legal research and technical writing skills, including proficiency with legal research tools (WestLaw)Strong academic and employment credentialsExcellent analytical, writing, research, negotiation, oral advocacy, and general communication skillsStrong interpersonal and client-service interaction skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentWell‑organized, detail‑oriented, and self‑motivatedProven track record of performance and professional excellenceThis position is full-time.Job RequirementsPosition: Litigation AttorneyEmployee Status: Full‑Time – ExemptSchedule: 8‑hour shift; day shift; Monday to FridayJob Type: ProfessionalExperience: 4-6 years as a Litigation AttorneySalary Range: $165,000+; Salary commensurate with expertise & previous experience; discretionary bonusesTravel: 0%About Leech TishmanLeech Tishman is a national, full-service law firm dedicated to assisting businesses, institutions, and individuals.
