Litigation Associate

We are partnering with a well-established, defense-oriented law firm seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Manhattan office . This role is ideal for an Attorney with 3-6 years of New York civil litigation experience looking to take ownership of a sophisticated caseload while working alongside experienced trial attorneys. The practice focuses on General Liability, Product Liability, and Insurance Coverage matters, offering significant client contact, courtroom exposure, and professional development.The Hiring Partner is primarily based in the Melville, NY office and prefers candidates interested in working from that location. Exceptional candidates seeking the Manhattan office will also be considered.ResponsibilitiesManage a civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution.Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.Conduct and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts.Attend court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.Handle legal research and analysis on complex litigation issues.Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation.Maintain accurate case files and meet litigation deadlines.QualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school.Active admission to the New York State Bar (required).3-6 years of civil litigation experience in New York.Experience handling General Liability, Product Liability, Insurance Coverage.Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills.Deposition and motion practice experience preferred.Ability to independently manage multiple litigation matters.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary: $125,000-$175,000 DOE.One of the lowest billable hour expectations in the New York litigation market at 1,800 hours annually, supporting a healthy work-life balance.Annual productivity bonuses for associates who exceed billable expectations.Discretionary year-end performance bonuses.Comprehensive benefits package.401(k) with employer matching up to 3%.Direct mentorship from experienced litigators and trial attorneys.Opportunity to work on sophisticated defense litigation matters with significant client and courtroom exposure.Long-term career growth within a collaborative and expanding practice.#J-18808-Ljbffr
