Counsels business clients on litigation and pre-litigation matters arising from the Company's property and casualty insurance operations, from underwriting to claims to general business mattersDevelops relationships throughout the Company so that legal advice is tailored to the unique needs of each of our specialty insurance divisionsManages, and collaborates with, outside counsel representing the Company in insurance policy–related and general commercial litigationParticipates in mediations, negotiates settlements, and prepares settlement and other litigation-related agreementsCounsels business and corporate services operations on regulatory matters associated with litigationCollaboratively works with other members of the Legal team to achieve optimal results for our business clientsPartners with other shared services groups to advise business clients on litigation-related questionsMonitors legal and regulatory issues and identifies and assesses trends and emerging risksHandles other matters within P&C Legal as neededPerforms other duties as assignedRequirements A JD from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdictionAt least three years of litigation experience in a law firm settingPrior experience in insurance is helpful but not requiredStrong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organizationCommon sense, good judgment, and solution‑oriented attitude toward legal issues.Certifications & Qualifications JDactive license to practice law#J-18808-Ljbffr
