Job DetailsWe are seeking an experienced litigation attorney who is ready to take meaningful ownership of complex matters and continue developing their courtroom and trial skills. This is not an entry-level position and is best suited for an attorney who is comfortable independently advancing cases while working closely with senior litigators.
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation matters through all phases of a case
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and substantive legal correspondence
- Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal and factual issues
- Develop case strategy in collaboration with other attorneys
- Take and defend depositions
- Prepare for and attend hearings, conferences, and other court proceedings
- Argue motions and handle substantive courtroom appearances
- Participate in trial preparation and trial-related work
- Manage discovery, deadlines, experts, evidence, and other components of an active litigation docket
- Communicate directly with clients regarding strategy, developments, and case objectives
- Independently advance matters when senior attorneys are engaged in trials or other proceedings
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff across complex litigation matters
Requirements
- At least 3 years of substantive litigation experience
- Active California Bar membership in good standing
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence
- Experience managing multiple active matters and competing deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable taking ownership of cases and solving complex legal problems
- Strong client communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently
- Interest in developing advanced litigation and courtroom skills
- Ability to commute to Century City
- Real estate litigation experience is preferred
- Graduation from a highly regarded law school is preferred
