Job Details
A growing plaintiff-side litigation practice is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its team. This position is ideal for an attorney with at least 5 years of litigation experience who is looking to take greater ownership of cases while continuing to develop trial skills under the mentorship of accomplished litigators.
Responsibilities:
Manage a personal caseload from filing through resolution.
Conduct written discovery, prepare pleadings, and handle motion practice.
Take and defend depositions.
Coordinate with expert witnesses and consultants.
Develop case strategy and evaluate settlement opportunities.
Participate in mediation and settlement conferences.
Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibits, motions in limine, and courtroom logistics.
Maintain compliance with court rules, deadlines, and procedural requirements.
Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and strategy.
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to drive successful case outcomes.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active California Bar license in good standing.
1-5+ years of civil litigation experience.
Experience serving as first chair or second chair in a trial preferred.
Strong deposition, discovery, and motion practice experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Experience:
Personal injury litigation.
Catastrophic injury or wrongful death matters.
Trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
High-value settlement negotiations.
Working with medical, liability, and economic experts.
