We are seeking a dynamic, experienced and detail-oriented Permanent Litigation Attorney to join our high-performing legal team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the legal industry, with a proven track record in litigation, mediation, legal research, and dispute resolution. This position offers an exciting opportunity to run/ create our Litigation department. The candidate will be responsible for handling a diverse caseload and will have the opportunity to work on complex and challenging legal issues.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management.
2. Set internal governance policies and manage the impact of external factors.
3. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, present evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
4. Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
5. Conduct legal research and gather evidence for lawsuits.
6. Engage in negotiation and mediation to resolve disputes.
7. Draft legal documents including briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts and legal memoranda.
8. Help develop federal and state law compliant policies.
9. Work alongside team members to manage and prioritize multiple cases and tasks.
10. Liaise with professionals from other companies and organizations.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation attorney with a portable book of business
3. Proven background in civil and/or criminal litigation.
4. Strong experience in managing litigation cases from start to finish.
5. Strong experience in conducting legal research and drafting legal documents.
6. Proficient in using legal software.
7. Excellent negotiation and mediation skills.
8. Excellent interpersonal, networking, and influencing skills.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
10. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
11. Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks.
12. Admitted to the State Bar and in good standing (or eligible for admission).
13. Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and integrity.
