Whitley Law Firm is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join our team. This attorney will need to have an active licensure in SC to practice law. Employees at Whitley Law Firm share a mission of obtaining the best results for our deserving clients.The Litigation Attorney is part of a team of attorneys at the firm with hands‑on management of personal injury cases including but not limited to medical malpractice, auto accidents, and premise liability for legal proceedings. This role will lead and provide oversight for a staff of case managers and/or paralegals.Typical Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.Location and Travel Expectations: This position is primarily located in our Raleigh, NC office with occasional travel anticipated to Charleston, SC office for client meetings, mediations, depositions, etc.Supervisory Responsibilities: This role will help support and lead a team of paralegals and/or case managers to support various departments within Whitley Law Firm. Ensure accuracy, compliance, and excellent customer service across the team.Case ManagementManaging a caseload of litigation matters to resolution.Examines legal and medical data to determine insurance coverage, liability, and damages.Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel and insurance companies.Ensure client satisfaction and timely follow‑up throughout each case.Legal ProceedingsDraft pleadings, motions, demands and other legal documents.Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, court hearings and trials.Conduct depositions and interviews with clients, witnesses and experts.Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings as necessary.Team Management and LeadershipBuild and establish relationships in the communities we serve to enhance our brand recognition, marketing efforts and client service.Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and process improvements within the department.ComplianceConduct legal research and analysis related to personal injury laws, regulations and precedents.Stay updated on developments in personal injury litigation law and related areas.Required Skills / AbilitiesAttention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills.Must be able to exercise extensive independent judgment to make decisions in carrying out assignments that have substantial impact on the department.Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation communication skills.Proficient in English; Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.Commitment to providing high quality legal representation and client service.Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and cross‑departmentally to reach firm goals.Must be able to efficiently and effectively utilize a CMS (Client Management System).Proven utilization of technology, including computers, databases, portals, and software, needed to successfully perform the job.Exhibits a professional and courteous demeanor to team members and the public with demonstrated compassion and empathy for clients, with the ability to de‑escalate when needed.High level of professionalism and ethical behavior.Education and Experience RequirementsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Must have an active membership in the State Bar of South Carolina with good standing.Preferred if the candidate also has an active licensure in the State Bar of North Carolina or ability to obtain within first 90 days of employment.Minimum of 5–7 years demonstrated litigation experience, with a minimum of 3 years working directly in a personal injury law firm required in pre‑litigation, WC, or handling of personal injury cases.Must possess experience leading and mentoring a team within a legal setting.Proven track record of representing clients in court.Benefits401(k) Retirement Plan eligibility + Employer Contribution after 6 months.Medical, Dental, Vision insurance + Employer contribution.Medical and Dependent Care Savings Accounts: HSA, FSA, DCA.Company paid Life Insurance and Short‑Term Disability (STD).Paid time off (PTO) + 12 Company Paid Holidays.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Parental leave.Whitley Law Firm offers a competitive base salary of $130,000+ performance bonuses based on experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
