Description
A well-established national litigation firm is seeking an Attorney with 3–5 years of litigation experience to join its growing New Orleans office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to deepen their litigation expertise while working alongside experienced trial attorneys on complex first-party property insurance matters.
Unlike many litigation roles, this position offers the opportunity to focus on developing legal strategy and courtroom experience without immediately managing a large independent caseload. You'll receive direct mentorship from senior attorneys while playing a key role in high-impact litigation.
What You'll Do
Support senior attorneys throughout all phases of complex civil litigation.
Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and other litigation documents.
Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
Review insurance policies, claim files, contracts, and other case-related documentation.
Assist with case strategy, discovery, and settlement negotiations.
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to manage litigation efficiently.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties throughout the litigation process.
Stay current on evolving case law, procedural rules, and industry developments.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active Louisiana Bar license in good standing.
3–5 years of civil litigation experience.
Insurance litigation experience is strongly preferred, though candidates with broader litigation backgrounds (including real estate, commercial, construction, or general civil litigation) are encouraged to apply.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Excellent oral advocacy and communication abilities.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Collaborative mindset with a desire to learn from experienced trial attorneys.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $125,000–$150,000
Performance-based bonus tied to team results
Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
401(k) with employer-sponsored benefits
Paid vacation and sick time
Short- and long-term disability coverage
Bar dues and continuing legal education (CLE) reimbursement
Professional development and mentorship opportunities
Work Environment
Onsite during the first 30–60 days for onboarding and training.
Transition to a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office) following successful onboarding.
Collaborative, team-oriented culture with direct access to experienced litigation attorneys and meaningful opportunities for professional growth.
