Job Details

Work remote.

We have offices in Denver, Phoenix and Salt Lake City.

This is a chance to take ownership of your own docket early and become a go-to defense attorney in one of the most active practice areas in Colorado. You'll represent employers and insurance carriers in a diverse portfolio of workers' compensation claims, handling matters from initial claim through hearing.

• Manage a diverse caseload of Colorado workers' compensation defense matters from intake through resolution
• Appear at hearings, depositions, and settlement conferences on behalf of employers and carriers
• Analyze compensability, disability, medical benefits, and average weekly wage issues and advise clients on strategy
• Draft pleadings, position statements, discovery, and motions in a fast-paced administrative law setting
• Communicate directly with adjusters, employers, and risk managers while managing deadlines, calendar, and billing

Looking for:

• CO Bar Admission
• Recent litigation experience (Workers' Comp or civil litigation)
• Also open to anyone from a district court background

You should know some of the following:

• Workers' compensation defense
• Insurance defense
• Administrative law hearings
• General insurance law
• Subrogation and recovery
• Compensability and claim defense
• Temporary, permanent partial, and permanent total disability
• Medical benefits and average weekly wage calculations
• Colorado WCRP rules
• Appellate practice
