Associates will work closely with experienced partners while maintaining appropriate autonomy based on their level of experience. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys looking to further develop their litigation skills within a collaborative and supportive environment.We represent major insurance carriers and their insureds in a broad range of liability and personal injury matters. The role involves handling general liability and personal injury claims, including premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, and New York Labor Law matters (Construction §§ 240 and 241(6)). Responsibilities and case complexity will align with the candidate's experience level.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManage litigation matters from inception through resolution, commensurate with experienceDraft and respond to discovery, motions, and other legal pleadingsConduct and defend depositions of parties and witnessesPrepare clients and insureds for depositions and court proceedingsAppear in court for conferences, hearings, oral arguments, and other proceedingsParticipate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiationsAssist with or lead trial preparation, including second-chair or first-chair opportunities depending on experienceCommunicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counselEnsure timely reporting and compliance with firm procedures and client guidelinesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Active Admission to the New York State BarLitigation experience in personal injury, general liability, and/or insurance defense mattersPrior experience representing insurance carriers or working within an insurance defense firmPREFERRED SKILLSStrong legal research, writing, and analytical skillsAbility to manage a caseload with increasing independence based on experience levelExperience with court appearances, depositions, and motion practiceFamiliarity with billing practices and adherence to client guidelinesTrial exposure (second-chair or first-chair experience welcomed)Professional judgment, strong work ethic, and attention to detailCommitment to delivering high-quality legal representationInterested applicants should forward cover letters and resumes to:Amber Thornhill, Director of Human Resources at amber.thornhill@lawbbh.com#J-18808-Ljbffr
