DarrowEverett LLP is looking for a Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant to support our Litigation Practice. The candidate must have excellent communication and administrative skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, be able to multitask without sacrificing efficiency, be responsible, and be able to represent the firm, always, in ways that enhance its reputation.Legal Administrative Assistant handles both traditional secretarial tasks and tasks specific to the legal field. On an average day, this role will range from answering phones and sending emails, managing projects, to preparing subpoenas, motions, and other legal documents.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDrafting legal documents including, but not limited, routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, subpoenas, and summonses.Coordinate appointments, including all correspondence and logistics necessaryPrepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.Manage legal documentation and correspondence in strict confidence.Transcribe and proofread legal documentsAccurately file documents with the court ahead of deadlinesFile, organize, scan, copy and fax legal documents in an organized and timely mannerAnswer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriateSchedule court depositions, hearings, and other meetingsFacilitate administrative projects, meeting of deadlines, and provide timely reminders.Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications3-5 years experience as a paraprofessionalFamiliarity with legal documents and terminologyProficiency with Microsoft Office programsAble to effectively prioritize and meet deadlinesAble to work as a team with attorneys and other colleaguesDemonstrate a courteous and professional demeanourSuperior written and oral communication skillsFamiliarity with electronic court filing.Physical criteriaAbility to sit or stand for up to 8 hours a dayAbility to hear and respond to conversations professionallyAbility to use a mouse, keyboardAbility to handle varying stress levels (high, very high) and maintain professional composure.#J-18808-Ljbffr
