The Litigation Legal Assistant for this position will have excellent communication, organizational, and people skills. The Litigation Legal Assistant will be a self-motivator, someone who works well with little supervision.
The Litigation Legal Assistant is responsible for the specific duties listed below.
Your specific duties will include:
- Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to assigned litigation attorneys and paralegals.
- Manage attorney calendars, meetings, deadlines, hearings, depositions, and other litigation-related events.
- Prepare, format, proofread, and revise correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery documents, notices, and other legal documents.
- Assist with preparing and filing documents with state and federal courts, including electronic filing.
- Maintain accurate and well-organized electronic and paper case files.
- Monitor litigation calendars and ensure deadlines and follow-up dates are properly entered and communicated.
- Assist with discovery coordination, including organizing documents, correspondence, requests, responses, and production materials.
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, conferences, and other litigation events.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, vendors, experts, and other outside parties.
- Assist attorneys with preparation for hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and other proceedings.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and ensure timely distribution to attorneys and appropriate parties.
- Enter and maintain attorney timekeeping and expense information as needed.
- Assist with client intake, engagement letters, conflict information, and other matter-opening procedures.
- Conduct basic case and docket research as requested.
- Track case status, important dates, and outstanding items to help keep matters moving forward.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
- Perform additional administrative and legal-support duties as needed.
Required qualifications for the position include:

- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 1-2+ years of legal assistant experience, preferably supporting attorneys in civil, commercial, business, real estate, insurance defense, or other litigation practices.
- Strong understanding of litigation terminology, procedures, court filings, pleadings, discovery, and litigation deadlines.
- Experience with electronic court filing systems and document management.
- Exceptional computer processing skills, including a high-level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
Pay Rate Range : $26.00 - $33.00 per hour
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
