Aspen Careers is partnering with a respected Columbus litigation boutique to identify a detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join its growing team. With the firm continuing to experience a high volume of work, this newly added position will provide essential administrative support to attorneys and legal professionals in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity, with an anticipated 60–90 day temporary period leading to permanent employment for the right candidate.

The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working in a law firm or legal environment; extensive legal experience is not required
- Strong administrative, organizational, and clerical skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and instructions
- Comfortable managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating deadlines
- Experience with electronic court filing or willingness to learn
- Ability to accurately save, organize, and name documents according to firm conventions
- Comfortable handling scanning, data entry, document preparation, and large-volume printing and mail projects
- Professional phone presence and strong communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning legal technology and document management systems
- Notary commission and remote online notarization experience are highly preferred
- Candidates who are not currently notaries but are willing to become commissioned and learn remote online notarization are encouraged to apply
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and route incoming telephone calls
- Maintain calendars and assist with scheduling
- Save and organize documents within NetDocuments
- Name and file documents according to established firm conventions
- Prepare enclosure and transmittal letters
- Electronically file documents with courts and other applicable systems
- Scan and organize legal documents
- Print and process large volumes of correspondence and mail
- Perform accurate data entry and other administrative support duties
- Assist attorneys and staff with day-to-day clerical needs to keep matters organized and on schedule
