Description
- Prepare, edit, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence.
- Handle state and federal court filings, including e-filing, filing under seal, and monitoring filing deadlines and confirmations.
- Maintain litigation calendars, tracking court dates, hearings, depositions, discovery deadlines, and attorney schedules.
- Create and update tables of contents and tables of authorities, ensuring all filings meet court requirements.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files, exhibits, pleadings, and other litigation-related documents.
- Coordinate depositions, meetings, trial preparation, travel arrangements, and other attorney support activities.
- Assist with client billing, expense reports, time entry, and new matter documentation.
- Serve as a key support resource for attorneys by managing daily administrative and litigation-related priorities in a fast-paced law firm environment.
Profile
A successful Litigation Legal Secretary should have:
- 5+ years of legal secretary experience supporting attorneys in a law firm setting.
- Strong litigation experience, including state and federal e-filing.
- Experience preparing pleadings, correspondence, discovery documents, and court filings.
- Strong calendaring skills, including management of court dates, hearings, and filing deadlines.
- Experience creating tables of contents and tables of authorities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- A team-oriented mindset, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional attorney support.
