Litigation Paralegal (152)

Prominent full-service nationwide law firm with over 40 years of experience representing survivors of catastrophic and traumatic events is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their team.  Candidates must be comfortable working with sexual abuse and assault cases, experience as a social worker or with trauma-related victims is a plus. Ideal Candidates will have experience with negligence and personal injury cases.  Experience reviewing medical records or working in a fast paced environment is a plus.  Must be reliable, professional and able to work as part of our close-knit team and to interact with clients.  This is a unique opportunity to join a respected and rapidly expanding law firm with a friendly and supportive office culture, while employing your legal skills in advancing a truly worthy cause.  This position is onsite at the firm’s Melville, NY office.

Responsibilities include:

• Communicating with clients
• Drafting and preparing memorandums of client interviews
• Drafting and preparing correspondences and medical record authorizations
• Obtaining and exchanging medical records
• Court filings
• Other administrative duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Must have 3+ years of experience with negligence and personal injury cases
• Paralegal Certification preferred, bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Must be comfortable working with sexual abuse and assault cases, experience as a social worker or with trauma-related victims is a plus
• Experience reviewing medical records or working in a fast paced environment is preferred
• Must have superior verbal and written communication skills
• Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills
• Must be compassionate to the needs of clients
• Must live within a 30-45 minute drive from the Melville, NY office
