A busy, growing law practice is seeking an experienced, highly organizedLitigation Paralegal to join its team in Acworth, GA. This is a hands-on role for a paralegal who is a strong writer, understands litigation procedure, takes direction well, and can independently manage deadlines and work product from assignment through completion.
The practice handles matters involving construction liens, lien perfection suits, breach of contract disputes, unpaid contractor claims, and related real estate and construction litigation. The Paralegal will work directly with the firm's attorney(s) and play an integral role in keeping cases organized, deadlines on track, and matters moving forward.
Provide day-to-day paralegal support on litigation matters from intake through resolution
Assist with construction lien matters and lien perfection suits, including claims involving unpaid contractors and work performed on real property
Support breach of contract and related construction/real estate disputes
Manage the discovery process, including preparing and organizing discovery requests and responses, gathering supporting documentation, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with clients
Draft correspondence, notices, pleadings, discovery documents, settlement agreements, and other legal documents for attorney review
Prepare clear, professional emails and written client communications
Assist with settlement documentation and coordinate execution of settlement agreements
Maintain litigation calendars and proactively track court, discovery, filing, and response deadlines
Organize case files, exhibits, evidence, contracts, invoices, lien documentation, and other supporting materials
Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, contractors, and other parties
Assist with Magistrate Court matters and other litigation-related filings
Provide support on residential real estate closings and lien filings as needed
Anticipate upcoming case needs and ensure the attorney has the necessary documents and information ahead of deadlines
3–5+ years of litigation paralegal experience strongly preferred
Prior experience with construction litigation, mechanics/construction liens, breach of contract, real estate litigation, or creditor/collection matters is highly desirable
Strong working knowledge of discovery procedures and litigation deadlines
Excellent legal writing, drafting, grammar, and proofreading skills
Ability to draft substantive correspondence and legal documents with limited hand-holding
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active matters and competing deadlines
Professional, responsive, and comfortable working directly with an attorney in a small-firm environment
Ability to take direction, understand the scope of the paralegal role, and execute assignments accurately and efficiently
Strong judgment and attention to detail
Paralegal Certificate and/or Bachelor's degree is a plus, but not required with relevant experience
The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, coachable, and accountable. You don't need to be micromanaged to stay on top of deadlines, but you're also comfortable taking direction and adapting to the attorney's preferred approach.

Salary: $50,000–$60,000, commensurate with experience
