Litigation Paralegal
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Schedule: 3 days in-office / 2 days remote (Wednesdays required)
Compensation: $64,000 - $105,000 annually + benefits
LHH is working with a highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its Chicago office. This opportunity is ideal for a paralegal with a strong background in general civil litigation and experience working in a billable-hour environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting attorneys through all stages of litigation, from case inception through trial and resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Manage litigation matters from inception through mediation, arbitration, settlement, and trial
Draft subpoenas for depositions and document production
Prepare and manage discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
Assist with drafting discovery responses, document productions, and privilege logs
Prepare attorneys for depositions and hearings
Coordinate with and retain expert witnesses
E-file documents in State and Federal Courts
Monitor litigation deadlines and ensure timely filings and responses
Draft legal documents, pleadings, briefs, chronologies, agreements, and mediation/trial binders
Conduct factual investigations and legal research
Assist with all phases of trial preparation, including witness coordination, exhibit management, trial notebooks, and trial presentations
Attend trials and provide litigation support as needed
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of general civil litigation experience
Experience with billable-hour requirements required (annual paralegal billable requirement of 1,440 hours based on a 35-hour work week)
Personal injury and/or product liability litigation experience preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
Aviation or aerospace litigation experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of State and Federal Court procedures and e-filing systems
Trial preparation and courtroom support experience
Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

State and Federal Court e-filing platforms
