Description

Litigation Paralegal (Class Actions) in Encino.

This role supports the Co-Chair of the Class Action practice group, primarily on federal consumer matters involving automotive defects, with some environmental contamination cases. The position is being added to expand team capacity after a prior opening went unfilled.

The paralegal will work closely with one of two shareholder-led teams, supporting a group of ~7 attorneys and existing staff in a satellite office. Responsibilities include managing complex, low-volume class action cases, heavy litigation calendaring, and assisting with all phases of case progression-from discovery and depositions to trial preparation.

Key duties include preparing exhibits, assisting with briefs, electronic filing in federal court, tracking attorney time, handling expense reporting, and maintaining case documentation in electronic systems (e.g., eCase, Adobe Pro). Strong technical skills in Microsoft Word and Excel (including pivot tables) are required.

Candidates should have 5+ years of litigation experience, strong organizational and case management skills, and familiarity with federal court procedures. A paralegal certificate is not required. Candidates from large defense firms are not suitable due to potential conflicts.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status. We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the California Fair Chance Act, City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance.
