Overview Block LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Habitability and Tenant Rights team in Burbank, CA. The role involves supporting attorneys with plaintiff‑side cases related to unsafe housing conditions, landlord negligence, tenant harassment, wrongful eviction, and other housing‑related disputes.Responsibilities Support attorneys through all phases of habitability, tenant‑rights, landlord‑tenant, and housing‑related litigation.Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery documents, subpoenas, correspondence, and other legal filings.Assist with discovery requests, responses, document review, and production.File legal documents with the court and track important deadlines.Maintain litigation calendars and help ensure deadlines are met.Organize and update case files, evidence, records, and client documents.Gather and review supporting evidence such as photos, inspection reports, repair requests, leases, notices, medical records, etc.Communicate with clients to gather information, documents, and case updates.Coordinate with attorneys, clients, experts, inspectors, contractors, medical providers, opposing counsel, and court personnel.Assist with settlement preparation, mediations, hearings, arbitration, and trial preparation.Prepare exhibits, trial binders, case summaries, and other litigation materials as needed.Maintain accurate case notes and updates in the firm's case‑management system.Provide professional, compassionate, and timely communication to clients.Assist with additional litigation and administrative tasks as needed.Required Qualifications Prior litigation paralegal experience required.Experience with habitability, tenant‑rights, landlord‑tenant, housing, eviction‑related, or plaintiff‑side civil litigation matters.Strong understanding of litigation deadlines, discovery, court filings, and case management.Experience drafting or preparing legal documents.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable managing multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities.Professional, dependable, and proactive.Experience with California civil litigation procedures.Comfortable communicating with clients and handling sensitive information.Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and team members.Comfortable using Microsoft Office and legal case‑management systems.Preferred Qualifications Habitability, tenant‑rights, landlord‑tenant, or housing litigation experience.Plaintiff‑side litigation experience.Bilingual in English and Spanish.Experience with e‑filing and court procedures.Experience preparing cases for mediation, arbitration, or trial.Experience working in a fast‑paced or high‑volume law firm environment.Benefits Competitive compensation package ($30‑$40 per hour, DOE).Performance‑based bonus opportunities.9 paid firm holidays annually plus additional paid time off.401(k) retirement program.Fully stocked kitchen with snacks, beverages, and coffee.Firm‑wide events, team outings, and celebrations.Career growth and advancement opportunities.Opportunity to work alongside experienced litigation attorneys on meaningful cases.Collaborative and supportive team environment.Equity and Diversity BlockLLP is an equal‑opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
