We are an expanding law firm seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team. You will work side-by-side with our trial attorneys on cases from initial intake through final resolution. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of files, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is motivated by delivering excellent results for clients.
What You’ll Do
Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, briefs, notices, subpoenas, and other litigation documents
Manage calendars, including all court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and statutes of limitations
Oversee discovery from start to finish, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
Gather, organize, review, and summarize documents, medical records, and deposition transcripts
Assist with preparation for mediations, settlement conferences, depositions, and hearings, including exhibits, binders, and case summaries
Communicate with clients, attorneys, experts, and witnesses to obtain information and prepare for litigation events
Conduct legal and factual research, including public records and background searches
Proofread and cite-check legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with court rules
Maintain organized, up-to-date electronic case files and document management systems
Review and analyze payroll, compensation, and timekeeping records to support liability and damages evaluations
Perform additional litigation support projects as needed
Required Qualifications
Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved or other accredited paralegal program
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
2–4+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal
Solid understanding of state and federal court rules, procedures, and filing deadlines
Hands-on experience with electronic filing systems and state court e-filing portals
Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously in a high-volume setting
Strong written and verbal communication skills and professional client interaction skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and comfort with standard office technology
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and strong numerical aptitude, including the ability to accurately review, calculate, and reconcile wage, hour, and timekeeping data
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Willingness to travel periodically (up to approximately 10%); valid driver’s license required
Background in employment law litigation or wage-and-hour matters, preferred
