Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal / Office Manager to support our litigation practice while overseeing the daily administrative operations of the office. This hybrid role combines substantive legal support with office management responsibilities, requiring strong multitasking, leadership, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation Paralegal Duties
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, trial, and post-trial activities
- Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence
- Manage case files, ensuring documents are properly organized, indexed, and maintained
- Perform legal research and summarize findings for attorneys
- Coordinate and track discovery, including document productions and deadlines
- Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and experts
- Prepare trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders
- Maintain and monitor litigation calendars and deadlines to ensure compliance
Office Management Duties
- Oversee day-to-day office operations to ensure efficiency and professionalism
- Supervise administrative staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Manage office budget, vendor relationships, and supply procurement
- Coordinate IT, facilities, and equipment maintenance
- Maintain office policies and procedures and ensure compliance
- Support HR-related functions, including onboarding and employee records
- Handle billing coordination, timekeeping oversight, and basic accounting support (as needed)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal operational issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited program preferred
- 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, with demonstrated exposure to civil litigation processes
- Prior office management or supervisory experience strongly preferred
