Litigation Paralegal
LHH Recruiting is seeking a detail oriented, deadline driven Litigation Paralegal for a direct hire job to support our client's attorneys throughout all phases of the litigation lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings hands on experience with e-filing, discovery management, and trial preparation, is fluent in Excel, and communicates clearly with attorneys, clients, courts, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- E-Filing & Court Procedures: Prepare and e-file pleadings, motions, notices, and other submissions in federal and state courts; manage service lists and calendaring of deadlines.
- Discovery Management: Coordinate discovery requests and responses; manage document productions, privilege logs, and Bates labeling; track deadlines and follow up with clients and custodians.
- Case Management: Maintain case files, indexes, and docketing; organize case chronology and evidence files; manage exhibits and deposition materials.
- Drafting & Proofing: Draft routine pleadings, discovery shells, cite check, and proofread filings for accuracy, compliance, and formatting.
- Trial & Hearing Support: Assist with trial notebooks, witness lists, exhibit lists, jury instructions, and logistics; support attorneys during hearings, mediations, and trial.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct factual research; summarize depositions and medical/employment records; prepare timelines and damages charts.
- Client & Vendor Coordination: Liaise with clients, experts, court reporters, and e-discovery vendors; manage subpoena process and records retrieval.
- Data & Reporting (Excel): Build and maintain discovery trackers, privilege logs, damages models, and production indices using advanced Excel functions (filters, pivots, lookups).
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous litigation experience required (e-filing, litigation terminology, discovery management, trial preparation). 3+ years of law firm experience preferred.
- Technical: Fluent in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data validation, filters); proficient with Microsoft 365 and common litigation tools (e-filing portals, PDF tools; e-discovery platforms a plus).
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication; professional, clear, and concise with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
- Organization: Extremely organized, proactive, and deadline-driven with excellent attention to detail and follow through.
- Education/Certification: Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred; bachelor's degree a plus.
Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
