We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with 10+ years of commercial litigation experience to join a growing litigation practice. The ideal candidate is a Certified Paralegal with extensive experience supporting attorneys in complex commercial and business litigation matters in Arizona state and federal courts.
This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. The successful candidate will play an integral role in every stage of the litigation process, from case inception through trial, while providing high-level litigation support to attorneys handling sophisticated business disputes. Bankruptcy litigation experience is a plus, but commercial litigation experience is the primary focus.
Responsibilities:
Support attorneys through all phases of complex commercial litigation, including case management, discovery, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
Review incoming and outgoing pleadings, court notices, and correspondence to ensure accurate calendaring and compliance with court deadlines.
Prepare, format, electronically file, and serve pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents in Arizona Superior Court, Federal District Court, appellate courts, and bankruptcy courts.
Maintain litigation calendars and proactively monitor deadlines, scheduling orders, and court requirements.
Coordinate all aspects of discovery, including document collection, review, production, subpoenas, interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
Prepare deposition summaries, witness files, exhibit binders, trial notebooks, chronologies, medical and business record summaries, and hearing materials.
Coordinate depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trial logistics.
Conduct legal and factual research utilizing Westlaw and other legal research platforms.
Draft initial pleadings, correspondence, discovery documents, subpoenas, and other litigation materials for attorney review.
Manage electronic and physical case files utilizing iManage document management software.
Assist with e-discovery, electronically stored information (ESI), document review, and production.
Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, government agencies, expert witnesses, and third-party vendors.
Coordinate service of process and ensure compliance with applicable procedural rules.
Qualifications:
Paralegal Certification required.
Minimum of 10 years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm environment.
Significant experience supporting commercial, business, or complex civil litigation matters.
Experience supporting attorneys through trial, arbitration, evidentiary hearings, and mediation.
Thorough knowledge of Arizona Superior Court, Federal District Court, and appellate court procedures.
Extensive experience with Arizona and federal electronic filing systems.
Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Experience with e-discovery platforms, document review, and litigation support technology.
Advanced proficiency with iManage, Westlaw, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional organizational, project management, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
Excellent legal writing, proofreading, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal staff.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience supporting complex commercial, business, real estate, construction, or corporate litigation.
Bankruptcy litigation experience is a plus.
Experience managing large-scale document productions and electronically stored information (ESI).
Familiarity with Arizona Superior Courts throughout the state, including jurisdictions outside Maricopa County.
Experience preparing cases for trial in high-value commercial litigation matters.
Experience utilizing modern litigation technology and document management systems.
Schedule & Benefits
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
