About the Opportunity
A well-established downtown San Diego law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a busy litigation practice handling a diverse caseload, including employment litigation, probate litigation, real estate disputes, construction defect matters, business litigation, healthcare litigation, and data privacy/cybersecurity matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working closely with attorneys, and has strong trial preparation and e-discovery experience.
Compensation & Work Arrangement
Salary: Up to $90,000 annually, depending on experience
Minimum 1,200 annual billable hours
Fully onsite during the first six months of employment
Hybrid schedule available after onboarding (4 days onsite / 1 day remote)
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and respond to discovery requests in pending litigation matters
Organize, maintain, and manage case files and litigation documents
Review, analyze, and prepare documents for production
Draft Judicial Council forms and other court filings
Prepare and respond to subpoenas
Assist attorneys with deposition preparation, including:
Organizing deposition exhibits
Managing exhibits during remote depositions
Summarizing deposition transcripts
Coordinate and execute all aspects of trial preparation
Manage e-discovery processes, including document review and production
Track court deadlines and litigation calendars
Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, court personnel, experts, vendors, and opposing counsel
Utilize case management, document management, and litigation support software
Qualifications
Required
Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal or litigation legal assistant experience
Strong knowledge of California civil litigation procedures and Superior Court processes
Trial preparation experience
Experience managing discovery and document-intensive litigation matters
Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and follow-up skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
High degree of professionalism and attention to detail
Experience supporting employment, probate, real estate, business litigation, or construction defect matters
E-discovery experience, preferably using Disco
Experience with iManage document management software
Top Three Qualifications
5+ years of litigation legal assistant or paralegal experience
Trial preparation experience
E-discovery experience, preferably with Disco
