Position: Litigation Paralegal
Status : Full-Time 40 hours a week
Location: Washington DC
Hours: 9-5
Salary Range: $80,000 To $120,000
About the organization :
Our client a premier intellectual property law firm, seeks a Litigation Paralegal, who must be able to handle all aspects of complex litigations, from pre-litigation phase, through trial and appeal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Organizing and maintaining case files and databases on a daily basis.
- Maintaining case dockets and advising attorneys of due dates.
- Organizing and coordinating document retrieval and review projects.
- Performing basic legal and factual research.
- Assisting in the preparation of pleadings, exhibits, written discovery and production documents for motions, discovery, hearings and trials.
- Cite checking and proofreading pleadings and other documents.
- Overseeing and managing all aspects of a case from pre-litigation through trial and appeal.
- Ability to work independently with a strong attention to details.
- Maintaining up-to-date time reports to ensure accurate client billing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5-7 years of federal district court litigation experience.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to set priorities and multi-task.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
- Knowledge of federal court rules and procedures, litigation terminology and documentation, and docketing procedures.
- Computer proficient, with experience and working knowledge of Lexis, Westlaw, and other litigation-research databases.
- Familiarity with case management software, E-Discovery, and Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) procedures is required.
- IP litigation, PTAB and/or ITC experience.
- Ability to work overtime and some travel may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS - May require sitting for long periods of time and must be able to lift 10 pounds.
This position is currently a hybrid position, with 3 days worked in the DC office and 2 days worked remotely.
