Position Summary

  • A litigation practice specializing in insurance defense is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to support attorneys in its Glendale office.
  • The role provides comprehensive administrative and litigation support in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Prepare, format, and e-file legal documents in California state and federal courts
  • Manage litigation calendars, deadlines, and attorney schedules
  • Draft and proofread pleadings, correspondence, discovery shells, TOCs/TOAs
  • Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical case files
  • Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, clients, and vendors
  • Assist with trial preparation, exhibits, binders, and logistics
  • Track litigation deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; legal secretary or paralegal training preferred
  • 3+ years of litigation secretarial experience (insurance defense preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of California state court e-filing procedures
  • Familiarity with civil litigation rules and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
Preferred Experience
  • Insurance defense or civil litigation firm background
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with billing/timekeeping systems (e.g., Aderant, Elite, or similar)
  • Trial preparation and California court filing experience
