A well-established, collaborative law firm in Sherman Oaks is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to support a team of attorneys in a fast-paced civil litigation practice. Position Overview
This role provides comprehensive litigation support to 3-4 attorneys, managing critical deadlines, court filings, and case documentation. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and able to operate independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage attorney calendars, including court dates, deadlines, and key milestones.
- Monitor court dockets and online portals for updates and filing requirements.
- Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents and correspondence.
- Coordinate and process filings in compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Communicate with attorneys, clients, and opposing counsel to ensure timely follow-up.
- Organize and maintain accurate, up-to-date case files (electronic and physical).
- Assist team members with overflow work and support overall office workflow.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of litigation legal secretary or legal assistant experience.
- Strong knowledge of court procedures, deadlines, and filing requirements (state and/or federal).
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
- Experience with e-filing platforms and court systems.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
