Movement, Confidence, and Healthy Habits That Last
Middle school students are learning what their bodies can do, how to work with others, and whether physical activity feels like a place where they belong. A strong Health and Physical Education classroom gives students a safe place to move, take appropriate risks, build skills, and experience progress without needing to be the fastest or most athletic student in the room.
At Lakeside Middle School, this .2 FTE assignment supports students through purposeful instruction in movement, fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal responsibility, and lifelong wellness. The district is seeking an educator who can create an active, structured, and inclusive learning environment where students are known, encouraged, and held to clear expectations.
This internal opportunity is well suited for a certificated educator who values collaboration and can integrate this assignment with an existing district role or schedule. The teacher will work alongside LMS staff to provide consistent instruction, monitor student growth, and help students build confidence and healthy habits that extend beyond the gym.
