Position Statement The PCU Licensed Nurse Assistant is responsible to care for adult and geriatric patients hospitalized for medical and post-surgical care. Key Responsibilities Assists and supervises patients to perform activities of daily living including bathing, toileting, eating, and ambulating. Performs and documents vital sign checks, glucose monitoring, and bladder scanning. Documents oral intake, elimination output, and patient rounding. Reports patient concerns and changes in patient condition to Staff nurse and/or Charge nurse. Provides compassionate end of life care. Attends and participates in unit education and in-services. Strives to improve the quality of patient care through personal development and unit projects. Collaborates with teammates to promote and preserve a positive work-place culture. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Current Vermont LNA license required. Current BLS certification required. Classes and certification offered by Employer. Maintains current AVADE certification. Classes and certification offered by Employer. All successful employees adhere to the Standards of Behavior including: confidentiality, delivery of care, professional appearance, service recovery, communication, attitude, integrity, accountability, and health/safety.

    North Country Hospital is a private, nonprofit acute care community hospital serving twenty-two communities in a two-county area in the rural Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Located on 30 acres in a quiet, easily accessible part of the City of Newport, NCH blends medical expertise and technology with a genuine concern for people.     North Country Hospital is governed by a Board of Trustees, comprised of community members, who give of their time to fulfill this vital role. The system includes the hospital, outpatient services, physician practices and Derby Green, a skilled care facility. North Country Hospital is a member of the American Hospital Association and the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems. It is licensed by the State of Vermont Department of Health and is certified by the Department of Health and Human Services as a provider under the Medicare program, It is also accredited by the Center for Medicare Services (CMS), which assures that the hospital meets the highest standards of medical care.

    Founded in 1919 by a group of area citizens, Orleans Country Memorial Hospital opened in 1924, the present North Country Hospital, opened in 1974.
