POSITION SUMMARY: The Layout Operator supports steel fabrication operations by reading blueprints, laying out material, and operating various fabrication tools and equipment. This role works closely with supervisors and coworkers to prepare materials, maintain safety standards, and continually develop layout and fabrication skills in a manufacturing environment.

Employees are frequently required to walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, crawl, lift, balance, stoop, handle materials, and squat or kneel. Employees must regularly lift and move up to forty ‑ nine (49) pounds independently and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with a team lift. This role requires working both indoors and outdoors, often during inclement weather, while performing labor ‑ intensive duties. The work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials and operating conditions. Due to these conditions, employees are required to wear company ‑ mandated personal protective equipment (PPE) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Work hours may include early morning, late afternoon/evening hours, and weekends in combination depending on job demands.
