Leave of Absence Specialist (Bilingual Spanish/English)

Our growing ecommerce client is seeking a Bilingual Leave of Absence Specialist to join their HR team in a newly created position driven by company growth. This highly visible, employee-facing role is responsible for managing the full leave lifecycle while ensuring compliance with federal and California leave laws. The ideal candidate brings recent in-house LOA experience, strong knowledge of California regulations, and a passion for delivering exceptional employee support.
No third party experience – must have hands on experience in a company
What You'll Do
- Manage 100-120 active leave cases from intake through return-to-work, ensuring compliance with FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, PFL, and other applicable leave regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, HR, and third-party administrators regarding leave requests, eligibility, documentation, and accommodations.
- Review medical certifications, maintain accurate records, and coordinate return-to-work and interactive process discussions.
- Partner with HR, Benefits, and Payroll teams to enhance leave processes and deliver a positive employee experience.
What We're Looking For
? 3+ years of recent Leave of Absence administration experience
? In-house employer-side LOA experience required
? Strong knowledge of California leave laws and compliance requirements
? Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
? Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
