We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Loan Documentation Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of professionals committed to providing superior service to our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all loan documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with company policy and government regulations. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a high level of organization, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and prepare loan documentation for a wide range of loan types, including commercial, residential, and consumer loans.
  • Ensure all loan files are complete, accurate, and in compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, underwriters, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or discrepancies in loan documentation.
  • Coordinate with the loan servicing team to ensure accurate and timely booking and funding of loans.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the bank’s lending policies and procedures and stay updated on any changes in laws or regulations affecting the company's loan portfolio.
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff members on loan documentation and compliance matters.
  • Perform regular audits of loan files to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Act as a liaison between the bank and external auditors during compliance reviews.
  • Continually identify opportunities for process improvement in the loan documentation process.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in loan documentation, preferably in the mortgage industry.
  • Strong knowledge of loan documentation requirements and regulations.
  • Experience working with attorneys and managing a loan portfolio.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of lending policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
