A loan officer manages loan applications by working directly with applicants to identify the right type of loan for their circumstances and guide them through the application process. Loan officers are also responsible for sales outreach and the behind-the-scenes-engagement with team members to move the loan through the steps including information gathering, underwriting and document execution.

GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARY
Develops and maintains banking relationships and a variety of complex commercial and real estate loans based on considerable lending authority by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May supervise employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization''s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making recommendations regarding the hiring and terminating of employees.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: Bachelor''s degree in business, accounting, finance, marketing, or related field and six years commercial, real estate, or consumer lending experience; or eight years commercial, real estate, and/or consumer lending experience; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Familiarity with State and Federal Loan Participation programs.
Preferred: One year supervisory experience. Marketing and/or sales experience.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Word processing and spreadsheet software experience required. The ability to handle highly confidential information, frequent deadlines, and time constraints required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make decisions based on those conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in, mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract variables.
