Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing mortgage brokerage based in Phoenix, AZ, for a Loan Officer to join their remote lending team. This is an opportunity to build a rewarding career in mortgage lending with a base salary of $45,000 to $55,000 plus uncapped commission, backed by an established brokerage with a strong local reputation and a steady pipeline of borrower leads.
Day to day, you will spend your time guiding homebuyers and homeowners through the loan process, from initial consultation through closing, translating loan programs and rates into clear options borrowers can act on with confidence. Responsibilities
Advise prospective borrowers on mortgage loan products, rates, and terms based on their financial goals
Originate residential loan applications and guide clients through the full loan process
Analyze borrower financials including income, credit, and assets to determine loan eligibility
Collect and review required documentation for loan application packages
Collaborate with processors, underwriters, and closers to keep loans moving toward on time closing
Maintain a pipeline of active leads and referral relationships with real estate agents and past clients
Stay current on loan program guidelines, interest rate trends, and regulatory requirements
Communicate loan status updates proactively to borrowers and referral partners
Meet or exceed monthly loan origination and closing targets
Ensure all loan files comply with company policy and applicable federal and state lending regulations
Requirements
Active NMLS license or ability to obtain one prior to start
Minimum 2 years of experience in mortgage lending, loan origination, or a related sales role
Working knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and jumbo loan programs
Strong understanding of credit analysis and income documentation requirements
Proven track record of meeting sales or origination targets
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage a high volume pipeline with strong attention to detail
Comfortable working independently in a remote, deadline driven environment
Proficiency with loan origination software and CRM tools
