Loan Operations Quality Control Analyst

Overview

The purpose of this job is to preemptively assess, analyze, and maintain loan quality through ensuring loan coding integrity via the following methods:

• Verifying accuracy of loan coding and rate limits as dictated by state and federal regulations and bank policy
• Utilizing existing system generated quality control reports and developing new and/or additional reports as required to ensure the integrity of the reported loan data
• Identifying deficiencies, drawing conclusions, and working with management to identify and minimize problem areas by recommending the proper training requirements for associates
• Assist with Sox, SBSF, CRA and HMDA audits

Responsibilities

• Review and correct deficiencies in loan coding, billing, and payment allocations for loans noted on Maintenance Crosscheck and user written alert reports.
• Examine all loans booked for accuracy of loan codes and loan compliance. Correct and track deficiencies.
• Audit loans noted as exceptions by the Compliance Department during their ongoing reviews for accuracy of data for SBSF, CRA, and HMDA reporting. Respond as required, correct if needed and track deficiencies.
• Audit loans noted as exceptions by Credit Administration during quarterly SOX audits and/or other reviews of loan codes. Respond as required, correct if needed and track deficiencies.
• Draw conclusions based on loans monitored, deficiencies noted, and data tracked. Prepare monthly analysis for management including recommendation for improvement.
• Specialized responsibilities/tasks assigned by management including but not limited to review of loans noted for deficiencies by regulatory authorities.
• Perform additonal duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School education/GED and five years job related experience in one or a combination of the following area:

• Loan Coding

• Loan Compliance-OR-

• Two years college education and four years job related experience in one or a combination of the following areas:

• Loan Coding

• Loan Compliance

• Extensive knowledge of loan compliance regulations

• Extensive knowledge of loan coding requirements

• Operational knowledge of loan structure parameters

• Extensive knowledge of lending policies and procedures

• General knowledge of loan accounting and impact of debits and credits

• Ability to comprehend/articulate/communicate loan coding/structure requirements

• Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines

• Time management principles to prioritize workload

• Analytical/judgmental skills

• Ability to work independently

• Detail oriented with an emphasis on accuracy

• Organizational skills

• Research skills

• Proficient in use of Excel including ability to develop in-depth spreadsheets

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
