Loan Operations Specialist

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Loan Operations Specialist to join a growing financial institution in Union, NJ. This is a full-time, long-term temporary opportunity for an individual with strong administrative, loan operations, and document management experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure loan documents are accurately scanned and indexed in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
- Verify that all loan documentation is properly completed and executed.
- Review Technical Exceptions (TEs) during the document scanning process, research discrepancies, and clear exceptions when appropriate.
- Perform limited post-closing reviews to ensure all required documentation has been received and processed.
- Maintain and safeguard original bank-designated loan documents.
- Review new and renewed loan bookings for accuracy, completeness, and data integrity within the loan servicing system.
- Audit loan file maintenance requests to confirm supporting documentation is received and accurately reflects changes made to loan accounts.
- Track collateral files entering and leaving the vault and retrieve files as requested.
- Provide support to other Loan Operations functions and departments as needed.
- Assist with special projects and perform additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in loan operations, banking operations, document control, or a related financial services role preferred.
- Strong understanding of loan documentation and banking procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
