Self-Help Enterprises is looking for a dedicated Loan Processor to serve as a key liaison between our programs and the hardworking families we support across the Valley. In this role, you will guide participants through every step of the homeownership journey, from initial outreach and eligibility determination to loan processing and closing.

As one of the first points of contact, you will play a critical role in creating a welcoming, supportive experience for families as they navigate the path to homeownership.

Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is required.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships within the community and actively recruit program participants through outreach efforts such as events, presentations, press releases, and public service announcements
  • Guide participants through the application process, including interviewing, gathering documentation, and determining eligibility for loan and grant programs
  • Process and package loan applications, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and program guidelines
  • Prepare participants for homeownership by providing counseling on budgeting, financial readiness, and home maintenance
  • Serve as the primary liaison between participants, lending institutions, public/private partners, and internal teams
  • Identify and recommend the most appropriate financing options based on participant needs and program requirements
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential records and files
  • Prepare monthly activity and progress reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth coordination and high-quality service delivery
  • Conduct group presentations to promote programs and educate potential applicants
  • Support additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Must Haves

  • Strong understanding of RESPA disclosures and lending regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse communities
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills and comfort working with data and documentation
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Cultural competence and the ability to relate effectively to individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (required)
  • Notary Public license (or ability to obtain)
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Some night and weekend work may be required.
