Position Title: Loan Specialist (loan processor for Commercial Loan Group loans)

Salary: $52,000 - $63,700 commensurate with experience and qualifications
plus superb benefits package provided to all employees
including up to 9% 401k contributions and profit sharing program

Loan Specialist (Commercial Loan Group)

Location: negotiable; any Association office within close proximity to successful candidate's residence and based on space availability within other offices

We have an excellent opportunity for a Loan Specialist to join our Commercial Loan Group. Reporting to the Commercial Loan Group Loan Operations Supervisor, this role is responsible for supporting commercial loan processing, closing, and servicing activities, as well as a variety of administrative and customer service functions.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform loan and accounting functions related to:
o Loan processing
o Loan closings
o Loan servicing activities (payments, disbursements, and documentation)
• Collaborate closely with Commercial Loan Group Relationship Managers (Loan Officers) to ensure timely and accurate loan closings following loan approval
• Prepare and review loan documentation to ensure completeness and compliance with Farm Credit procedures
• Manage post-closing activities and ongoing loan servicing responsibilities
• Coordinate and communicate with attorneys, settlement agents, borrowers, and internal stakeholders throughout the loan process
• Provide professional customer service by:
o Answering incoming calls
o Responding to routine inquiries
o Directing callers to appropriate resources and team members
• Support administrative functions associated with maintaining accurate loan records and servicing activities

Additional Information
• Farm Credit loans are retained within our portfolio for the life of the loan and are not sold on the secondary market, allowing for a long-term relationship-focused approach to lending and servicing.

Education, Experience, and Requirements (Qualifications for Success)
• Minimum of three (3) years of loan processing-related experience
• Experience processing real estate loans, including knowledge of deeds, deeds of trust, mortgage notes, and title insurance; commercial real estate transaction experience preferred
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, with experience using loan processing software
• Current Notary Public commission or ability to obtain commission upon hire
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with borrowers, attorneys, settlement agents, and colleagues
• High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent customer service, telephone, organizational, and grammar skills
• Ability to successfully pass background screenings, including credit, criminal, driving, and drug tests
• Working knowledge of Farm Credit operations preferred
• High school diploma required; Associate degree from a community college, business college, or related field preferred
